1. Introduction

Vinzala Institute ("Vinzala," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of information when you use VinzalaOS™ and our related educational platforms.

Because our primary users are K-12 students (minors), we observe the highest standards of data protection and work strictly in compliance with the Republic Act No. 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA) of the Philippines, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.

2. Information We Collect

To provide our continuous AI-driven educational assessment and personalized learning experiences, we collect various types of information:

  • Account Information: Names, email addresses, contact details, and school affiliations of parents, coaches, and students.
  • Biometric Data: With explicit parental consent, facial geometry data is temporarily processed locally on the device (using standard WebRTC/Face API constraints) to enable our Face ID automated login for young students. We do not store permanent facial images on our centralized servers.
  • Educational Telemetry & AI Interactions: Real-time data on student progress, engagement metrics, assessment results, Socratic interaction logs, and behavioral learning patterns. This enables the AI Engine to adapt the curriculum dynamically.

3. Minors and Parental Consent

Protecting the privacy of children is our top priority. The collection and processing of personal data from minors (under 18 years of age) are only conducted with the express, verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Parents have total control over their child’s account via the Parent Dashboard. They may review the information collected, request modifications, or revoke consent to further data collection at any time, which will result in the suspension of the AI telemetry features.

4. How We Use and Share Information

We use the information we collect for the following legitimate educational purposes:

  • To verify identity and provide secure access to VinzalaOS™.
  • To power the AI Learning System, generating personalized learning paths and real-time competency assessments.
  • To populate the Parent and Coach Dashboards with actionable academic insights.
  • To maintain system security, debug issues, and improve our educational models.

We do not sell your personal data. Your information is only shared with authorized parties (such as assigned educational coaches or school administrators) directly involved in the student's academic journey. We may share anonymized, aggregated data for educational research purposes.

5. Rights of the Data Subject

In accordance with RA 10173, you (and parents on behalf of minors) have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Right to be Informed

You have the right to know what personal data we collect, how it is processed, and for what purpose.

Right to Object

You may object to the processing of your personal data, particularly regarding automated profiling.

Right to Access & Rectify

You may request access to your data and demand correction of any inaccuracies through your dashboard.

Right to Erasure

You may request the deletion or blocking of your personal data from our systems under specific legal grounds.

6. Data Security and Retention

We implement robust technical, organizational, and physical security measures, including end-to-end encryption and secure cloud infrastructure architectures, to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the educational purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable Philippine laws. Upon graduation or account termination, data is either securely anonymized or permanently deleted.
